Blurred vision could be a sign of cataracts. If that’s the case, we can help! At the office of IC Laser Eye Care, we specialize in cataract surgery and are ready to help restore your vision!
Cataracts are films that form in the lens of the eye that can impair your vision. We can perform a procedure called cataract surgery to remove the cloudy area and restore your vision.
The good news is that cataract surgery is a very common, outpatient procedure, without many risks. While you don’t always need the surgery if you have cataracts, it can be very helpful if you are having any vision issues related to your cataracts. It’s not an emergency procedure, so you can take time to consider the pros and cons of the surgery for you. Some things to consider when determining if the surgery is right for you include:
If you answered yes to any of these questions, you would likely benefit from cataract surgery. However, it’s important to see your doctor to determine the best option for you.
What to Expect with Cataract Surgery
The surgery does not take long—typically just under an hour. You will be monitored for a short period immediately after the procedure and then can go home that day. In the weeks following surgery, you will likely be prescribed eye drops and will need to wear a protective eye shield while you sleep for a period of time. You can expect your vision to begin to improve within a few days. Your doctor will discuss all post-operative care with you, and when you can return to all of your normal activities.
